The Country 99.7 WCYK Gas & Groceries for a Year contest will begin Monday, May 12, 2008 and continue through Friday, June 13, 2008. The game will be played daily with the exception of weekends (Saturdays, Sundays) and holidays.
Participants must be at least 18 years of age.

Country 99.7 WCYK will air a song of the day at least once, Monday-Friday between 9:00am and 5:00pm. The song may be aired more than once. Each time the song of the day airs the ninth (9th) caller to (434) 975-9970 or (800) 997-6534 after the song begins on the air will win a $50 gift card to Whole Foods in Charlottesville and a $50 gift card good at all al participating Virginia Oil gas station locations. They will also be entered to win the Gas & Groceries for a Year Grand Prize. The odds of being the ninth caller depends on the number of persons calling the contest lines indicated above.
Country 99.7 WCYK may elect to announce the song-of-the day at specific times on the air, publish them on the Country997.com website and/or provide clues as to when songs may air through e-mails sent to those registered in the WCYK E-Club available on the website.
All song of the day winners are qualifiers for the Gas & Groceries for a Year grand prize of $3000 in gift cards from Whole Foods in Charlottesville and $2600 in gift cards from participating Virginia Oil gas station locations. These grand prize gift cards may be distributed to the winner over a twelve (12) month period as determined by Whole Foods and Virginia Oil and may not all be provided at one time. The grand prize winner may be required to pick up portions of the grand prize gift cards at the location designated throughout the course of the next year. Odds of winning the grand prize is determined by the number of qualifiers which is expected to be fifty-qualifiers, which would make the odds 1 in 50. Country 99.7 WCYK may elect to hold the grand prize drawing at a public site to be determined.
Unless directed otherwise, prizes must be picked up in person by the winner at the Monticello Media LLC offices at 1150 Pepsi Place, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22901 during regular business hours. Prizes must be picked up by the winner only who must have a valid picture ID, acceptable to Country 99.7 WCYK/Monticello Media, providing proof of age and residency. Winners may be required to sign a contest release form and an affidavit of eligibility to claim prize, failure to accept terms of release forms or provide the required information including a valid social security number/tax identification number will result in the forfeiture of any and all winnings. Prizes will not be available for seven days after they have been won. Prizes not picked up within thirty (30) days after the prize is ready may be forfeited.
Prizes are not transferable and are not redeemable for cash.
The contest is open to residents of the United States living in the Charlottesville area and the surrounding WCYK listening area. Employees and the immediate family members (family members residing in the same residence) of employees of Monticello Media LLC or employees of other radio stations in the Charlottesville Total Survey Area as defined by Arbitron are not eligible to participate. Country 99.7 WCYK/Monticello Media reserves the right to disqualify anyone who violates the contest rules.
All federal, state and local laws apply. Winners are responsible for all federal, state and local taxes due as a result of winning the prize. Winners receiving prizes valued at $600 or more during a calendar year will receive an IRS Form 1099.
By winning the prize winners consent to the use of their name, likeness and/or voice for promotional purposes with such use being without compensation.
Country 99.7 WCYK/Monticello Media is not responsible for busy phone lines, disconnection, poor connections, dropped connections, equipment malfunction or any other telephone malfunction or difficulty. Listeners listening to Country 99.7 WCYK via internet streaming are hearing all elements of the station on a delay. Calls for the Gas & Groceries song of the day will be taken based on when the song begins over the air and as such, listeners listening to the Country 99.7 WCYK internet stream are at a disadvantage to those listeners listening over the air.
Country 99.7 WCYK / Monticello Media reserves the right to change the contest and/or the contest rules at any time. All changes will be indicated on the official rules available at the Country 99.7 WCYK/Monticello Media offices.
